When I was young I remember my Mom writing tunes to scripture. She used it to help memorize quickly. At the time I didn’t fully understand but I've grown I've incorporated it as a tool in my own life. It’s amazing that some of the little songs she wrote way back then still echo in my heart today! What a gift to have His Word tucked away!

There are so many reasons to memorize scripture but I’m going to tell you a few reason I can speak to personally.

Most importantly - God tells us to! (Psalm 119:11)
The Bible is TRUE! In our world today there are a lot of definitions concerning truth. But GOD’S Word is our strong, steady, foundation! A compass we can trust completely.
My mind can be a messy place. From worries to selfish thoughts - I often need an intervention. There is nothing better than interrupting those thoughts with a solid dose of God’s truth!!!
It helps me refocus from SELF to God!
I have recalled His truth in moments I needed it most. Many stories here - but for another day.
I want my children to know God’s Word - and hear me speaking His Word daily!
It is FUEL for my soul. If my mind tries to survive on a diet of social media and entertainment I will literally be starving. And cranky. And likely spiraling. But if I feast on His Word - I thrive!!!!
I consider these seeds. Seeds that I KNOW will bear great fruit!!!!
