Happy Sunday, friends! Our week was pretty busy with a lot of celebrating for Independence Day. Does it get any better than food and fireworks? My Mom and I got up early on the 4th and made a blackberry cobbler to take down to the creek. I should share her recipe here sometime. It is SO good!!!
Here I am trying my best to roll out the crust... I was sweating at this point as I know I can't quite do it like she does!!! Ha!!! #learning
She gets everything ready at home and then transports the cobbler to cook at the cabin. When the kids come back from swimming in creek it's a race to get some of Nanny's blackberry cobbler. It's a crowd favorite for sure.
My Mom has been doing pretty well this week. Still struggling with a lot of fatigue but I am thankful for the smile on her face and the little twinkle in her eye. Isn't it amazing how during hard season you find yourself thankful for such little things? I've found myself thinking, I'm so glad I can walk over and do the laundry. What a blessing that my arms can unload the dishes. Yep. A perspective shift for sure.
The songs we picked for today are some we have been singing around the house lately. "Love Lifted Me," is especially close to my heart as I found such comfort in it after our little Silas passed away. There were many days I didn't feel like singing yet the words of that song often helped my heart. LOVE this line....
"But the Master of the Sea heard my despairing cry, from the waters lifted me now safe am I... Love lifted me! Love lifted me. When nothing else could help, love lifted me!"
So thankful that He is waiting for us to call to Him and ready to help our hurting hearts in times of need.
